Latics' coffers will be boosted to the tune of £40,000 after Sky Sports selected two games for live television coverage.

Athletic will receive a payment of £10,000 from the satellite broadcaster for coverage of the away game at Leicester City on Saturday, February 7 2009 (KO 5.20pm).

And a further £30,000 will follow when John Sheridan's side take on Roses rivals Leeds United at Boundary Park on March 2 (KO 7.45pm).

Chief executive Alan Hardy commented: "It's been a long time coming, but it looks like the TV people see us as serious contenders for promotion.

"The two games will provide us with some much-needed revenue, but the sums involved aren't as much as those for the FA Cup."

Clubs selected for live coverage in January's third round will receive £160,000 apiece.
