ALLOTT TO SERVE ONE-MATCH BAN

Posted on: Tue 06 Jan 2009

Midfield Mark Allott will miss Saturday's game against Hartlepool United to serve an automatic one-match ban.

The 31-year-old picked up his fifth booking of the season in the latter stages of the 1-1 draw at Huddersfield.

Allott had been walking a disciplinary tightrope since November 1 after three bookings in as many games took his tally to four.

He subsequently went 11 games without receiving a further card but will now sit out Saturday's fixture.

The ex-Chesterfield man also scored in the game, but Michael Collins' equaliser secured a point for the hosts.

Manager John Sheridan has plenty of options in the middle of midfield.

Danny Whitaker and Kevin Maher both played against Huddersfield, while Kieran Lee can also play in the middle and Dale Stephens is waiting in the wings.
