Latics chiefs are looking for original run-out and goal celebration music after being hit with a steep bill from the Performing Rights Society.

PRS bills each Football League club each season for usage of music clips - and the club were stunned this week when they were hit with massive price increases.

Run-out and goal celebration music is distinct from general background music used in the stadium, which remains chargeable at the same rate.

PRS have increased their prices by a stunning SIX HUNDRED PER CENT - and managing director Simon Corney has been left furious by the "extortionate" price hike.

"As a club we cannot understand how an organisation can raise their prices by so much," stormed Corney, who has put a block on paying the extra money for goal and run-out music.

"We will continue to pay the base rate for usage of general music but I cannot tolerate a 600% increase for goal and run-out music.

"Therefore I'm looking for any fans who can provide us with any copyright-permissable music to use in these situations!

"It's a great opportunity for fans to show us what they can do because we will certainly not be held to ransom by PRS."
