Danny Whitaker says his side will take an attacking mindset out with them at Leyton Orient tomorrow.

The players have been working on forward play in training as they look to improve on a tally of one goal in their last two outings.

And Whitaker - who scored a late equaliser at Cheltenham in midweek - echoed his manager's thoughts by describing a win as "vital".

"We've been working on attacking football in training, getting the ball forward, and hopefully that will pay dividends on Saturday," he told Latics World.

"In terms of the play-offs it's not over 'til it's over, and we're only a few points behind with seven games still to play.

"Other teams around us still have some tough fixtures, so if they drop points it's up to us to be right there on their tails and ready to take over.

"We know Orient will be tough opponents, as are any team in the bottom half of the table.  We've seen that when teams come to Boundary Park and put men behind the ball.

"I don't think I've ever won at Orient and it's a tough place to go - but three points are vital for us."
