The clout possessed by Latics' official website was underlined last week when we issued an appeal to track down four of the squad players from 1989/90 for the reunion in April to mark the 20th anniversary of the "pinch-me season."

Within hours, Chris Makin contacted Latics to say he had learned the club were trying to locate him.

Makin, who retired two years ago, is living in Stockport where he has a property investment property.

We also found Chris Blundell, the left back who was recalled from a loan spell in New Zealand during the 1989/90 season because of an injury crisis.

Blundell also lives in Stockport where he has his own security business. He is still involved in football coaching Cheadle and Gatley under-10s.

We also learned Norman Kelly was last known to be coaching in America though, as yet, no contact has been made.

The one player who remains elusive is Simon Mooney who is understood to have family in Heywood so any help tracing him would be appreciated.
