WEATHER UPDATE

Posted on: Thu 25 Feb 2010

Latics do not envisage any weather problems as they prepare for Saturday's visit of Coca-Cola League One leaders Norwich City.

There had been fears in midweek whether the match would go ahead as two inches of snow covered the Boundary Park pitch which was also frozen.

Indeed, had Tuesday's match against Leeds been a home fixture, there is no way it would have taken place.

However, a marked rise in the  temperature saw the snow and ice disappear in the space of 24 hours.

Groundsman Lee Williams does not envisage any problems with night-time temperatures forecast for two degrees while the pitch, which has excellent drainage, will be able to cope with the heavy rain forecast for tomorrow.
