With Delia Smith, the queen of television celebrity chefs visiting Boundary Park on Saturday, it must have been a daunting challenge for Lords, the firm which provides Latics' matchday catering.

As Delia, Norwich City's joint majority shareholder, was due to dine in the boardroom, they had to decide what meal to serve the food critique and her entourage from Carrow Road.

Barbara Boughton , of the Whitworth-based catering firm, explained: "If you look on our website you will see we have the Lords potato-pie fan club and that is what we served Delia.

"She had it with mushy peas and a bread bun along with tomato and basil soup as a starter.

"We thought it would be nice for her to have a traditional Lancashire dish and she enjoyed the meal."
