Local Young People Show Racism the Red Card

Young people from primary schools in Oldham have been invited to a Show Racism the Red Card event on Thursday in partnership with Oldham Athletic FC and The Oldham Race Equality Council. This event will be opened by The Mayor and launches "No Place for Racism in Oldham"; a week of anti-racist activities across the borough.

The young people will take part in an educational workshop led by Leroy Rosenior, ex-professional footballer and TV pundit. They will view a screening of Show Racism the Red Card's DVD, featuring top footballers talking about their experiences of racism within football and the wider society. Footballers from Oldham Athletic will also attend the event and form a Q and A panel to answer questions on racism from the young people. Oldham Athletic have kindly donated a signed ball and family match tickets as prizes for the young people asking the best questions.
