Seven out of 10 Latics fans source information about the club from the official website, the Football League Supporters Survey has revealed.
The value of the official website is underlined by the findings of the survey which also shows that only 12-per-cent of fans use local newspapers to find out what is happening at Boundary Park.
The importance of the website amongst Latics fans is more prevalent than at most other clubs.
The League One average for fans using official websites as their main means of accessing information about clubs is 62-per-cent and the Football League average is 55-per-cent.
