Latics has a new chairman after Simon Blitz decided to end his association with the football club. He has stepped down from his position on the board of directors with immediate effect.
Director Danny Gazal has also severed his connections with the football club leaving Simon Corney, the third member of the Three Amigos, as the new chairman.
After seven years in charge, Mr Blitz feels he has done as much as he can to take the club forward.
He said: "It is with great regret that due to personal and economic pressures, I have decided to end my seven-year association with Oldham Athletic.
"I have met lots of nice people and enjoyed my time, but have found it a constant battle and uphill struggle in more recent times.
"I don't feel I am able to give the club's supporters the contribution they are looking for in the future."
Mr Blitz continued: "Last season I invested a further substantial amount of money into the club. And with reduced income from season-ticket sales this summer, the demands on me were becoming too great.
"Simon Corney will be taking over the reins as chairman and I know that, along with Alan Hardy, Ian Hill and Barry Owen, they will be working hard to try and ensure the club can move forward.
"I would ask that all fans give them, and manager Paul Dickov, their full support."
Mr Corney said: "Simon's decision to step down is obviously a major disappointment. It means that we all, including the fans, will have to work a lot harder to try and make the club successful.
"We have an enthusiastic manager in Paul who is keen to make a big impact and I know that he and his coaching team will be looking to provide the fans with the kind of football which they have not enjoyed in recent times."
Latics were in administration in 2003 and threatened with going out of existence when Messrs Blitz, Gazal and Corney, who affectionately became known as 'The Three Amigos,' came to the rescue as they bought the football club and safeguarded its future.
