Spectators at Rhyl's Belle VueGround were entertained to a goal fest as the two sides shared nine goals.

Latics went into a three goal lead midway through the first half with goals from Andrew Crompton, Djenny Bembo-Leta and the trialist full back and that is the way it stayed until half-time.

Latics increased their lead early in the second period when Crompton notched his second of the game.

Rhyl then pulled a goal back when John Toner got on the scoresheet.

Young full back Connor Hughes then increased Latics lead when his shot from just outside the penalty area took a slight deflection to put Latics 5-1 up.

We then saw a late rally by the home side after Latics had made a number of substitutions and they added goals by Michael Pritchard (2) and Scott Beckett, two of the goals coming in injury time.

Keeper Greg Fleming had to leave the field midway through the second half with a damaged knee being replaced by Josh Ollerenshaw.
