Warren Feeney was ruled out of Latics' opening home npower League One match of the season against Notts County.

The 29-year-old striker sustained a groin strain playing for Northern Ireland in midweek.

The absence of Feeney meant Djeny Bembo-Leta, who scored on his full debut against Scunthorpe in the Carling Cup, retained his place in the front line.

Oumare Tounkara, who missed the midweek match with a tight hamstring, returned up front in place of Dean Kelly who dropped down to the bench.

The Notts County team included former Latics pair Lee Hughes and Ben Burgess while another ex-Boundary Park player John Thompson was on the bench.
