NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT - PURDIE

Posted on: Wed 18 Aug 2010
Rob Purdie has reassured fans there is nothing to worry about after he pulled out of last night's reserve-team match against Burnley.

The injury-troubled player was a spectator at Stalybridge as Latics crashed to a 6-0 defeat.

Purdie missed out after feeling tightness in his groins after training and also a pain in his back.

He stressed the niggles are nothing to do with the injury which kept him out for the whole of his first year at Boundary Park and it was a case of careful management of his body.

"I would rather be out a couple of days rather than playing, aggravating them and then to be out for weeks," he explained.
