Police are studying CCTV footage to try and identify two teenagers suspected of being responsible for last night's arson attack which caused up to £40,000 damage to the Corner Flag Suite at Boundary Park.

Two suspects, who appear to be teenagers, have been caught entering the ground at about 5.15pm and leaving approximately 25 minutes later by climbing a gate on the Broadway Stand side having started the fire on the platform used by disabled supporters which is beneath the Corner Flag Suite.

The pair are caught on camera outside the ground watching the fire get hold before walking behind the Rochdale Road Stand and down Furtherwood Road.

Police have obtained descriptions of two suspects and scene of crime officers have been combing the scene to gather further evidence.

Chief Executive Alan Hardy said: "There is significant damage to the disabled platform and the hospitality suite. We will have to make a decision whether the suite is removed or repaired.

"When you look at the smoke and water damage, damage to the platform and hospitality suite, electrics, CCTV and PA systems you could be looking at a cost upwards of £40,000."

Mr Hardy added that a lot of work, especially to the electrics and CCTV systems, has to be done to get the ground ready for Saturday's home game against Yeovil

Police are hoping to be able to release images of the suspects to the media as soon as possible in the hope they can be recognised.
