Latics player-manager Paul Dickov finds himself in the bizarre position of not being able to force his way into his own team!

Dickov did not feature in Latics' opening four competitive fixtures and this afternoon he will be on the sidelines once again as Yeovil visit Boundary Park.

The Latics chief is loathe to make changes with the team doing so well which means there is no place for himself.

"We have so many players and such in the competition for places that I am struggling to get a game even in training," joked Dickov who made two brief substitute appearances pre-season.

Dickov is not complaining as he would prefer to remain on the sidelines if the team continues to impress.

The 37-year-old also has plenty of competition for striking spots with Oumare Tounkara, Warren Feeney, Dean Kelly, Djeny Bembo and Deane Smalley all vying for places, not forgetting the injured pair of Ryan Brooke and Lewis Alessandra who will also be in contention. Winger Chris Taylor can also operate up front.
