Warren Feeney's absence of international duty this week provides an opening for another of Latics' strikers.

Feeney will miss Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Shrewsbury and next Saturday's home game against Bristol Rovers because he is playing for Northern Ireland in their opening Euro 2012 qualifer in Slovenia on Friday night.

Vying for Feeney's place will be Dean Kelly, Djeny Bembo, Deane Smalley and may be even player-manager Paul Dickov himself who has yet to feature in the matchday 18 for any of the first five competitive fixtures.
