The fire damaged Corner Flag hospitality suite at Boundary Park is to disappear.

Latics directors have decided not to replace the structure which was badly damaged by fire following an arson attack a week last Sunday.

Chief Executive Alan Hardy said: "The directors considered the cost of replacing or refurbishing the hospitality suite and decided it was too high bearing in mind we hope to move to a new stadium in the next two or three years.

"They considered it not cost effective to spend an excessive amount of money for a short period of time."

Latics are to transfer season-ticket holders from the Corner Flag to the Sponsors Suite at the opposite corner of the ground.

Mr Hardy added because of the economic climate last season, there were occasions when the Corner Flag wasn't opened for a number of matches.
