Paul Dickov has made a further plea for the stayaway Latics fans to turn up on Monday night to back the team in its bid to reach Wembley.

The Latics manager says the fans can make a huge difference in the second leg of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, Northern Area Final against Chesterfield.

Dickov explained: "We know we will get the 3,500-4,000 hardcore who come all the time and back us all the way.

"What I am asking is for the other 1,500-2,000 who went to Liverpool and made all that noise to come down and spur on the lads.

"The lads appreciate it and it does make a difference. They are desperate to beat Chesterfield and reward the fans with a trip to Wembley."
