LATICS supremo Simon Corney has revealed that the club has spent a staggering £430,000 on paying off players and managers during his tenure at the club.

Corney asked club accountant Neil Joy to put together the information, which revealed the figure amounts to almost half a million pounds when agents' fees are added.

"These are costs people don't know about, and I was quite astounded when I found out how much we've paid out over the last few years.  The amounts involved are quite mind-boggling", Corney told oldhamathletic.co.uk in a telephone interview moments ago.

"We're shooting ourselves in the foot really.  Fans know I operate an open-book policy, and I wanted to share this information with them as I realise that supporters are always interested in gaining an insight into the workings of the club."
