LEE DUXBURY spoke to oldhamathletic.co.uk yesterday after his side eased past Bury in an afternoon kick-off at Boundary Park.

Goals from Matty Wolfenden - his sixth strike in as many games - and Chris Lever secured the second string's ninth win of the campaign, although Nicky Adams did pull a goal back for the Shakers fourteen minutes from time.  The result extends Latics' unbeaten run, and boss Duxbury was pleased with the performance, but seemed disappointed with the goal conceded:

"We looked confident in the first half; my only disappointment was that we didn't score.  We were strong on set pieces, and just needed to be a bit cleverer in and around the box.

"We started the second half well, but took our foot off the gas after we scored.

"You've got to look at the basics of football for their goal.  If the guy's looking to shoot on his good foot, then the defender should show him his weaker foot."

"They only had a couple of chances, but it definitely wasn't as easy as our 7-1 win earlier in the season.  I'm pleased with the lads, though, especially as this was our first game for a while."

Duxbury sprung a surprise before kick-off by naming midfielder Moussa Dabo at centre-back:

"It's difficult as I've got to accommodate four or five sitting midfielders, so I've had to swap around formations and systems during the last couple of games.  After all, the reserves are there to bring young lads through, keep first-teamers ticking over, and bring people back from injury."

Latics' second string boss was also disappointed with the referee for not awarding a penalty following an apparent foul on Matty Wolfenden.  The pacy striker was in a dangerous position in front of goal when he appeared to be hauled back by Chris Brass:

"It was a blatant penalty", Duxbury fumed.  "The referee was very indifferent, and even their manager [Chris Beech] said it was a penalty.  But you've just got to get on with it."
