12.12.06 - SIMON CORNEY ON REDUCED-ADMISSION FIXTURES
SIMON Corney has revealed that he is pleased with the public's response of the Hillstone-backed fixtures against Brighton and Hove Albion and Northampton Town.
The Boundary Park ticket office has reported heavy demand ever since tickets went on sale last week, and a couple of areas of Boundary Park are now sold out, as reported yesterday.
"I'm very pleased - it's nice that people are responding", said Mr. Corney. "Hopefully the team can continue to perform well.
"I hope fans will continue to buy their tickets in the numbers they have been doing, and we need people to get through the turnstiles and continue backing this club if we're to realise our vision for the future."
And what of Latics' progress with the festive programme just around the corner?
"There's some very difficult games coming up. I'm one of these people who thinks that things won't pan out fully until after Christmas.
"I think it will become clearer at the end of February, as at the moment we've got ten or eleven teams fighting for six spots."
