12.12.06 - DUXBURY SPEAKS AFTER TRANMERE NICK POINT
LEE DUXBURY had mixed emotions after seeing his side play out a 2-2 draw against Tranmere Rovers last night.
Two goals from the visitors sandwiched strikes from Michael Pearson - his first of the season - and Chris Hall, and the Reserve boss felt he side should have taken all three points from the game:
"They [Tranmere] had four chances. The goals, the chance that hit the post and the header late on - nothing else", Duxbury said after seeing his team continue their unbeaten record this season.
"Sometimes you just have to try and grind out wins, no matter what level you're playing at."
Duxbury's side battled back well to establish a 2-1 lead at half time, but the second period degenerated somewhat and the boss was unhappy with his side's inability to shake things up:
"We just got too predictable. Teams can cancel each other out by doing the same things, thus we needed to change our style of play to do something different, but we didn't do that.
"We put the effort in, and on the bright side we haven't lost the game, but Tranmere didn't deserve to get a result. They didn't have many chances, which is pleasing, and my lads just needed to change their game plan to make a difference to the play."
