DUXBURY BLASTS SECOND STRING'S SHOWING

LEE DUXBURY was in no mood for handing out praise after his side crashed to a 2-0 reverse at Accrington Stanley last night.
The result was the reserves' first defeat of the season, and Duxbury revealed he was deeply unhappy with the showing:
"We were very disappointing in the first half, with the two goals coming from mistakes by the trialist goalkeeper", Duxbury said after his side lost their 12-game unbeaten run.
"The ball's bobbled over his foot for the first goal, but you've just got to get on with it and that had nothing to do with our performance.
"I asked the lads to own up and admit which of them were unhappy with their performance - seven of them put their hands up. We didn't get the simple things right, like trapping the ball, passing, and weighting a pass, and it was very disappointing to see basic errors creeping into our football.
"The only positive I can think of was that the lads on the fringes of the first team got a 90-minute run-out."
Duxbury also called on his side to bounce back in next week's game against Manchester United at Hyde United:
"We've got a tough game coming up next and it's important we get a result. With no disrespect, it'll be interesting to see the difference in attitude between playing Accrington and Manchester United."
