Paul Dickov believes new loan signings Jean Yves M'voto and Oumare Tounkare will be big hits for Latics.

The Latics manager also wants to publicly thank Sunderland manager Steve Bruce for allowing the pair to join them for the 2010/11 season.

Dickov revealed the twosome were on his wanted list from day one in the job at Boundary Park.

And to have secured their season-long loans has, he believes, been a massive coup for the npower League One side.

Dickov said: "Both players are everything we want - young and hungry with a good attitude and a point to prove.

"Apart from their physical presence - they tower over me - they both have pace and are good athleties and footballers.

"We are very lucky to have them on board and Steve Bruce has been fantastic in allowing them to join us."

Latics hope to repay Bruce by giving the valuable experience as neither has made the breakthrough at the Stadium of Light.

As Sunderland have a large squad, there is little chance that M'voto or Tounkare would have broken through to play in the Premier League in the forthcoming campaign.

M'voto had a loan spell at Southend last season, but Tounkare's debut for Latics at Tranmere was the first competitive appearance in English football for the Paris-born player.

Dickov was impressed how Tounkare handled his first appearance saying he will improve once he settles.

He said: "Oumare brings something different to the forward line as he has pace as well as being big and strong.

"We have a lot of forward players and they all have different qualities which you need to break down defences."
