JP Kalala left 2006/07 play-off finalists Yeovil to sign for Latics on a two-year deal in June 2007.
Kalala made 42 appearances (1 goal) for the Glovers in 2006/07, helping them to a 5th-placed finish in League One.
He appeared as a substitute in both the play-off semi-final against Nottingham Forest, and the final itself.
The combative midfielder arrived in Britain in July 2005 when he signed for Grimsby Town, and made his name with a stunning winner as the Mariners knocked Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur out of the Carling Cup in 2005/06.
He then followed boss Russell Slade to Huish Park on a free transfer in summer 2006.
Kalala has been capped six times by his native DR Congo.
The player was made available for transfer by manager John Sheridan in summer 2008 after failing to hold down a regular place in the side in 2007/08.
In October 2008, Kalala joined former club Grimsby on loan until January 3, 2008. The arrangement was extended until the end of the season in January 2009.
