Neal Eardley is widely regarded as one of Latics' brightest prospects.
A product of the club's successful youth system, Eardley became the latest graduate to see first-team action when he made his debut against Scunthorpe United in May 2005.
Eardley joined the senior squad for pre-season training ahead of the 2006/07 season and forced himself into the team under new boss John Sheridan.
The right-back spot became his own, and Eardley made 40 appearances, scoring two goals.
The Llandudno-born defender is also making good progress on the international scene.
Eardley won his first senior cap for Wales when he appeared as a half-time substitute during their 1-0 international friendly win over Bulgaria in Burgas on August 22, 2007.
He has also represented his country at U17, U19 and U21 level.
Neal Eardley captained Oldham Athletic in the absence of Sean Gregan in November 2007.
