Utility man Kieran Lee joined Latics on a two-year contract in May 2008.
Capable of playing anywhere across the back line or midfield, Lee signed on a free transfer after being made available by Manchester United.
A graduate of the Old Trafford youth set-up, Lee signed his first professional contract in 2004 and quickly broke into the club's reserve side.
He was handed the captain's armband for the reserves in 2006/07 and made his senior debut for United in the same season in the Carling Cup tie against Crewe.
That game also brought Lee's first senior goal - the extra-time winner which saw Alex Ferguson's men through to the next round.
Lee continued to feature in the senior squad, making his Premier League debut at Chelsea in May 2007.
He was awarded the Denzil Haroun Reserve Player of the Year award at the end of the season.
Lee moved to Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers on loan in January 2008, making seven appearances.
He turned down a permanent move to Loftus Road in summer 2008 in order to stay in the north of England.
Hampered by injuries in the first half of the season, Lee will be targeting a regular first-team berth in 2009.
