Latics' reserve side rounded off their Pontin's League Central Division campaign with a defeat at Bradford City.
The Bantams were four goals up at half time as a trialist was dismissed for a professional foul just after the half-hour.
Lee Duxbury was again forced to go with youth, Jack Fitzgerald stepping in after JP Kalala was forced to withdraw just before the game.
A number of trialists also figured as the coaching staff took their final opportunity to have a look at some players in a match situation.
Luke Medley put the hosts ahead with a 14th-minute header, and Scott Phelan doubled the advantage soon afterwards after Josh Bell had saved from Ugo Udoji.
David Brown made it three 24 minutes in when he latched onto a slide-rule through-ball to slot home.
And Phelan had his second in 34 minutes when he was tripped by the trialist inside the area.
The trialist was dismissed by the referee and Phelan got up to stroke home from 12 yards.
Ashley Kelly came close for Latics with a snapshot just before the break, but the Bantams wrapped things up when substitute Luke Dean scored with his first touch after coming on as a sub.
Kelly almost pulled one back for the visitors only to see his shot cleared off the line, while Ross Thaker came also close late on.
The game was Latics' last in the Pontin's League for the foreseeable future, as they have withdrawn from the league for next season.
Manager John Sheridan will instead concentrate on a number of friendlies and the Senior Cup competitions.
