Latics took all three points against a strong Blackpool side on Wednesday night, despite some torrential rain and wind in Hyde.

Nick Blackman scored for Athletic as he continues his comeback from injury, whilst Joe Jacobson completed an hour's run out in a centre half role.

Laquan Esdaile Biney was the centre of attention for much of the game for Athletic, scoring twice with his head and giving away a penalty at the other end, as Latics ran out 4-3 winners.
