Morecambe Reserves v Latics Reserves

Latics started the game the brighter side against Morecambe and it was the blues that went closest to scoring in the opening half when Phil McGrath struck the woodwork.

There was then disappointment for Latics as McGrath injured an ankle and had to leave the field after just 15 minutes.

Latics continued to be the more adventurous side but were unable to turn their superiority into goals in the first period which ended goalless

The second half was only 12 minutes old when striker Ryan Brooke headed a Tom Eaves cross into the back of the net to give Latics a deserved lead.

Latics continued to press forward and take the initiative but it was not until the 85^th minute that they increased their lead when Kirk Millar side footed home from within the six yard box.

Hasney Aljofree and Jon Worthington both managed to complete the full 90 minutes
