Ryan Brooke's brace couldn't prevent Latics' youth side slipping to a 5-2 defeat at Blackpool on the Fylde Coast last night.

The youngsters have been involved in a host of high-scoring games this season and this contest was no exception.

The game was poised at 2-2 with an hour gone, but Blackpool won and converted a penalty before drawing away with two further goals.

Tony Philliskirk's side are in action again this Saturday when they travel to Shrewsbury Town for a noon kick-off.
