Born in Manchester, Hobson began his career at Burnley in 2014, before joining AFC Bournemouth in 2016.
Shaun spent four years at the Cherries, and over the course of his time at the club had various loan spells.
He joined Eastbourne Borough and made 14 appearances, scoring once. Short spells at Chester and Eastleigh then followed.
in 2019, his most successful loan came at Weymouth, where Shaun made 27 appearances and scored two goals as he helped the club win promotion to the National League.
The defender then joined Southend in 2020 and was a key player over the course of his spell with the Shrimpers, establishing himself as a regular in the heart of defence.
