Oldham Athletic Community Trust (OACT) have partnered with Oldham Council Youth Service to deliver a summer of activity funded through the Holiday activities and food programme (HAF).

The Holiday Activities and Food Programme is a programme of funded activities during the school holidays aimed to get children who attend to:

  • Eat more healthily over the school holidays
  • Be more active during the school holidays
  • Be safe and not to be socially isolated
  • Have a greater knowledge of health and nutrition
  • Be more engaged with school

The Department for Education sets the eligibility criteria for the Holiday Activities and Food programme.

Children who receive benefits-related free school meals in Oldham, can attend this project.

Martin Vose, OACT Head of Community, commented: “We are delighted to once again partner with the Oldham Council Youth Service which builds upon an already long-standing relationship.

The summer HAF provision allows us to enhance our engagement opportunities for those within our local community this summer, alongside our summer soccer school based in Royton. Having already worked together during the Easter holidays to deliver a hugely successful project we are looking forward to working together to provide further additional opportunities throughout the four weeks of summer delivery.”
