  • Boot Bank Collection

Ahead of this weekend's fixture, Oldham Athletic and the Community Trust are supporting OASF's Boot Bank Collection.

44% of children in Oldham live in poverty, the aim of the ongoing collection initiative is to work towards ensuring that no child in Oldham should be prevented from playing football as a result of their families financial circumstances.

Over the summer months Oldham Athletic Supporters Foundation will be collecting pre-worn children’s football boots, cleaning and refurbishing them through a wide range of collection points.

At the start of the next season they will distribute them to children whose families are struggling to afford a pair of boots.

Martin Vose, OACT Head of Community, commented: “We are delighted to support this fantastic initiative, which focuses on a very real need locally and is a fine example of collaborative working.

"The collection comes as part of our wider matchday engagement strategy that we have used this season.

"We have used the platform of Oldham Athletic matchdays to collect for both Oldham Foodbank and the Christmas Toy Appeal which have been generously supported by both the Oldham Athletic fanbase and wider community.”

The first collection will be prior to this Saturday's fixture, you can bring along your old boots that you no longer use and leave them in the collection bin which is located within the Athletic Store. There will also be a donation point located within the Dr Kershaw's Furniture Hub on Shaw Road.
