Oldham Athletic Military Veterans Beat Preston North End Military Veterans in the inaugural fixture in the North West Military Veterans Football League.

On Tuesday 22nd September, the Oldham Athletic Military Veterans Football Team travelled to Preston to play their first league game of the season against Preston North End Military Veterans. Oldham Athletic are part of a nations first dedicated military veterans football league alongside Rochdale AFC, Manchester City, Curzon Ashton, Burnley FC, Wigan Athletic, Preston North End, AFC Fylde, and Blackpool FC.

We would like to thank Preston North End for hosting the first league game, we wish you all the best in the upcoming campaign. 

Oldham Athletic won the game 13 - 8, with goals coming from Keith Melvin (5), Paddy McQuaid (4), Barry Cloran (2), Andy Royle, and Ste Carulli.
