Play On The Pitch – Royton Hall

This week we welcomed Oldham Athletic Community Trust (OACT) school partner Royton Hall Primary to Boundary Park, as part of the popular `Play On The Pitch initiative`, with selected year six pupils enjoying a memorable afternoon with the OACT team.

Royton Hall have been a proud OACT school partner for several years now, with this academic year seeing OACT working with the school on a full-time basis. This will ensure that a wider range of opportunities will be provided to the schools community.

Before the game Ouss Cisse spoke to the children about a range of different topics, including his current injury, the importance of a how to keep a positive mindset when facing setbacks, the importance of education and the need to work hard to achieve your dreams.

After the Q&A session it was then time for the children to take to the field, with Ouss Cisse on hand to provide some first-hand insight to the class. It was an action packed games with a plethora of goals being scored at both ends for each team.

Emily Ashworth, OACT schools engagement lead, added: “It was a privilege to welcome Royton Hall Primary School to Boundary Park, for what we hope will be the first of many play on the pitch opportunities for our OACT school partners.

Our vision for the forthcoming 12 months is to ensure that we provide as many unique and positive opportunities that we can to create memories that will last a lifetime. Events such as this play a key part in achieving this."
