Oldham Athletics Jordan Clarke Hosted An Education Activation Event With Canon Burrows!
Last week, defender Jordan Clarke logged in to Zoom to speak with pupils from Canon Burrows Primary School.
The defender answered a variety of questions from the pupils and teachers about his career so far, dealing with injuries/disappointments and also the sacrifices made to become a professional footballer.
Player Engagement opportunities with the Oldham Athletic first team squad allow schools in the area to engage with their local team in a unique way. These occasions help young people build an affinity to Oldham Athletic helping create life long supporters for the future.
Oldham Athletic Community Trust school engagement manager, Emily Ashworth, commented: “I'd like to say a huge thank you to both Jordan Clarke and also Canon Burrows for their time on Thursday afternoon.
Player engagement events, such as this last week, provide the opportunity to raise pupils aspirations as they find out about the sacrifices made to become a professional footballer. We also ensure that we work collaboratively in the build-up to any events, making sure that any particular messages from the players to the pupils mirror those that the school provide on a daily basis.”
