Oldham Athletic Community Trust (OACT) last week hosted the final stages of the PL Primary Stars Under 11's Girls Football Tournament.
On Friday 11th February, Oldham Athletic Community Trust final stage of the Premier League Primary Stars Under 11's Girls Football Tournament, at KickSonic in Oldham.
Using the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs, Premier League Primary Stars is inspiring children to learn, be active and develop important life skills.
Premier League Primary Stars builds on the great work delivered in schools by clubs and was backed by our first ever national TV and cinema advertising campaign.
Available to every Primary School in England and Wales, free digital resources cover subjects from maths and English to teamwork and sport.

Well done to South Failsworth, Hodgeclough, Hey With Zion and Christchurch for a fantastic morning of football, with each school demonstrating the PLPS values (connected, fair, inspiring and ambitious). Following a morning of high quality football, Hodgeclough Primary were the eventual winners and will now represent Oldham Athletic at the PL regional finals event.
Emily Ashworth, OACT Schools Engagement Manager, commented:"It was a fantastic event as we held the final stage of our PLPS Under 11s girls football event. I would like to thank all of the schools for taking the time to compete in this years competition, every child participating were a credit to their individual school.
I'd also like to say well done to Hodgeclough on their success today, I look forward to seeing them represent Oldham Athletic in the next round in March.”
Andy Clowes, Headteacher at Hey With Zion stated: "When I told the girls they would be playing in a football kit, representing the school at an Oldham Athletic Football Tournament their eyes lit up! One or two of the girls already play for clubs but I think the expereince here today will give the rest of the girls on the team a lift to keep playing football. We love working with OACT, alongside the PE provision, the other additional opportunites are fantastic!"
Layla Heptonstall, Captain of the Hodge Clough Team said: "It means alot to me to represent my school, especially with it being my last year with the school. I like to do the best I can with them! It is great to play football at an event linked with Oldham Athletic because they have their mens team and its great to see them get invovled with womens and girls teams!"
