August 2023 Round Up

2023/24 Football Season Begins!

This month, football returned to Boundary Park as Oldham Athletic started their season! We loved welcoming fans back to the OACT Family Stand and as part of the new season we will be welcoming fans to our new and improved Junior Latics Lounge, which launched on the 12th of August

The room will now be the new home to the tuck shop and has been painted in OAFC colours (Blue and Tangerine) and has windows with a view of the pitch, enchancing the matchday experience for junior latics fans! 

The room will also host activites throughout the season, so keep an eye out to find out when these will be!

As well as the new room, the new season also sees us welcome Matchday Mascots and Flag bearers! You can see the highlight video below showing all of our matchday offering!

Charity Spotlight

Dr Kershaw’s Hospice has been chosen as Oldham Athletic Community Trust charity spotlight for their first home match of the season on Saturday 12th August.

Volunteers and members of staff from Dr Kershaw’s where here on the day to raise awareness of the Hospice and the impact they have on the community.

Also as part of the Charity Spotlight at Boundary Park, Dr Kershaw’s announced the launch of their brand new community initiative Dr Kershaw’s Kicks - Offering all children the opportunity to go to school with adequate footwear and the ability to participate in sports and social activities.

Numerous charities will be supported across the season and below you can see all the charities that will be supported on a matchday through the season;

Summer Soccer School Success!

Our Summer Soccer School has been in full swing this month with all participants in great spirits and a lot of great football on show. We have also had plenty of visitors including Mark Kitching, Alex Reid, LiamHogan, Dan Gardner, Will Sutton, Kurt Willoughby, Mark Shelton, Harrison McGahey and of course Chaddy the owl down to say hello and play some football with our participants.

We had 6 great weeks at Royton and Crompton welcoming over 200 children for a jam packed summer of football fun!

Oldham Library Reading Challenge

As part of our ongoing support to Oldham Library with their Summer reading challenge, we have gifted 50 tickets to each of the first 3 home games of the season, all in august to Oldham Library!

Men's Over 30's Just Play Session update.

Our new Over 30s Football Session has been a great success since launch and now sees a regualry high attended football session every week at Broadfield on a Thursday night 7-8pm! Check out the video in the tweet below to see the impact the session has had in such a short time so far!
