Womens session launch the OAFC third kit!

This month we visited our recreational womens session as they took part in the photoshoot for the Oldham Athletic third kit!

The sessions take place every Tuesday and is welcome to all women of any ability, whether they are a first time player or have played for years.

OACT team up with Foresight Foundation:

Oldham Athletic Community Trust have partnered with The Foresight Foundation, to benefit eligible families with Free Internet who are attending this summers OACT Soccer School.

All families accessing the summer provision, based at E-ACT Royton & Crompton Academy, will be able to apply for free internet data. The offer, which provides 20GB data for 12 months at a value of £240 and aims to support families with Digital Poverty.

Did you know that:

  • 42% of young people do have either home broadband or a laptop/desktop computer.
  • 21% of the UK population lack essential digital skills
  • 30% of young people aged 8-25 are at risk of becoming “digital castaways”

The Foresight Foundation is a not for profit, social enterprise tackling the digital poverty crisis to create a digitally inclusive society. 

Back to the future continues:

This month we visited our back to the future partners including new partner Throstle Court.

Lots of fun and games had on the Nintendo switches helping us keep the residents there active and socialising.

School partners announced for 23/24:

As we prepare for the new school year,  we have been announcing our OACT school partners for the 2023/24 school year. We are pleased to announce that; Hey with Zoin Primary school, Fir Bank Primary school, Blackshaw lane, Horton Mill school and Oasis Limeside, will be joining us for the 2023/24 school year.

Hear us Roar:

During the summer term, we have continued hosting hear us roar girls only football sessions. We visited Blackshaw lane and Hey with Zion this month to see their sessions. The girls showed off some great football skills with smiles all round and lots of fun had.

Year 2 Football tournament:

This month we held a Year 2 football tournament welcoming a number of schools to take part in a competitive and fun day of football. All schools and teams played excellent and helped make it a great day all round.

We have one last tournament before the school year ends as we host a year 2 girls Hear us Roar tournament! We already can't wait to host our 2023/24 tournamnets next school year.

Playmakers Initiative:

This month we visited Horton Mill as part of our Playmakers Initiative, The PlayMaker award creates young sport leaders in the school to support with lunch time activities!

New Bridge visit Boundary Park:

On the final day of the month, we welcome students from New Bridge to Boundary Park to visit the stadium! They asked plenty of questions and found out all about Oldham Athletic. 

We look forward to welcoming back participants to a game during the season!

Military Veterans league:

This month we announced our new OAFC veterans’ team with the intention to join the newly formed North West Military Veterans League. As such we are currently looking for Millitary veterans to represent OAFC for the upcoming season.
