MATCH PREVIEW: Oldham Athletic vs. Plymouth Argyle

26 January 2018

Oldham Athletic face Plymouth Argyle in Sky Bet League One tomorrow afternoon (3pm kick off) and we are urging all supporters to come down to the ground to support the team.

A new era has begun with Abdallah Lemsagam taking over as the club’s new owner and we will officially introduce him to the crowd at 2:50pm tomorrow afternoon.

Back to matters on the pitch, Athletic head into the game looking for their first league win of 2018.

The takeover will hopefully provide a lift to the players and supporters ahead of the game.

Plymouth Argyle come into the game in impressive form and sit 15th in Sky Bet League One.

They have picked up 35 points from 29 games, however, Latics could move within three points of their opponents with a win.

Speaking ahead of the game, Wellens said: “Everything changes this Saturday. Forget the performance, we need to get a result. It’s a massive game and the biggest game of the season.

“We have been in the position before and we have been in a worse position that this earlier in the season and we came through it.

“We need to make sure we get a result to get us back in that pack. There is a pack of about six or seven teams who are above us which is very close and we need to try and close the gap.

“We need to get amongst them and see what happens. We need a good points return from the next three games.”

Sky Bet have listed Athletic as outsiders for tonight's game at 10/11 whilst the visitors are 29/10.
