MATCH PREVIEW: Oldham Athletic vs. Swindon Town

12 April 2019

Oldham Athletic will be looking for four wins on the bounce as they take on Swindon Town in the Sky Bet League Two fixture at Boundary Park tomorrow (3pm).

Latics have won their past three games 2-0, but Head Coach Pete Wild isn’t getting too carried away.

"It's been another good week, it was obviously a tough week last week so, we've had to look after some tired bodies at the start of the week, but we've ramped it up as the week has gone on.” He said.

"I just see it as another game, I'm not prepared to get carried away we've had a good week and that's all it has been, a good week.”

Wild confirmed that Zak Dearnley will still be missing from the squad as well as long-term injury absentee Dan Gardner.

Swindon travel to Boundary Park on a five-game unbeaten run, but they have drawn their last two games.

Lawrence Vigouroux will return to the matchday squad for the Robins, but Canice Carroll will be a doubt after picking up a shin injury.

Latics have only lost one game in the last ten meetings with Swindon, however the last two games have ended 0-0 between the two sides.

Oldham last beat Swindon at Boundary Park in April 2016 in a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Liam Kelly and Curtis Main.

Oldham Athletic priced at 7/5 to beat Swindon Town.

MATCH REPORT: Latics Forced To Settle For A Point At Home To Swindon Town

13 April 2019

Oldham Athletic and Swindon Town played out a 2-2 draw at Boundary Park in an end-to-end contest.

George Edmundson gave Latics the lead before Swindon turned it around with goals from Michael Doughty and Kyle Bennett.

Johan Branger-Engone grabbed the equaliser for Latics, but neither side could find the winner.

Latics made the perfect start as Mohamed Maouche whipped in a freekick which found the Captain Peter Clarke.

Clarke’s header was saved by Luke McCormick, but the rebound fell to Edmundson who poked it home to give Latics the lead.

The visitors had their first real opportunity when a cross form the right found Theo Robinson, but he could only hit it straight at Daniel Iversen.

Kyle Knoyle then crossed for Kyle Bennett who saw a header bounce off the post before Johan Branger-Engone saw a shot blocked by Dion Conroy up the other end.

Maouche and Christopher Missilou played a neat one-two on the edge of the Swindon box before the latter has a decent effort stopped by McCormick.

Latics were going into the half-time interval with a lead, but Robinson got the wrong side of Edmundson before being brought down in the penalty area.

Referee Martin Coy pointed straight to the spot and Doughty stepped up to plant the penalty into the bottom corner.

Swindon had the first chance of the second half when Robinson nodded one down to Ali Kolki, but he could only volley over.

The Robins took the lead as Latics gave the ball away cheaper in their own half with Bennett drilling a low shot past Iversen.

Substitute Mo Sylla then found Callum Lang who forced a decent save from McCormick before Latics found the equaliser.

A cross from Hamer was only cleared as far as Branger-Engone and he volleyed it into the top corner.

Lang headed one wide from a long ball from Iversen before he found McCormick into a fantastic stop after being found by Christopher Missilou.

Jose Baxter had a coupe of efforts from distance sail over before Iversen had to be at his best, denying James Dunne from close range.

Latics had to settle for the point as they take on Cheltenham Town on Good Friday next.

Attendance 4064 (362 Away).
