A new era begins for Latics as David Unsworth takes to the dugout for the first time as Oldham manager.

The new gaffer will be looking to start in a similar vein to how Latics finished their last game as they were able to give John Sheridan a fitting send off with a late win against Eastleigh at Boundary Park.

It begins for Unsworth with a trip to Bromley.

The Opposition

Bromley have played their football at this level since they won promotion from the Conference South in the 2104/15 season by winning the league.

Since their promotion, they have successfully established themselves as a solid mid table outfit with their lowest league finish coming in their maiden campaign in the fifth tier when they finished a respectable 14^th place.

Their best finish to date came in the 2020/21 season where they finished 7^th.

They play at the Hayes Lane ground and have done since 1938.

Form Guide

Bromley have enjoyed a solid start to their eighth season in the National League, winning five of their opening nine league matches.

This leaves them in seventh position, currently occupying the last available spot in the play-offs.

Their recent form has been good especially at home where they are yet to lose a game this term, Latics will be hoping to end that record.

Watch out for

Adam Marriot is a man in form for the hosts, netting four times in his last three outings.

This includes a brace in Bromley’s last fixture against Maidstone and he will be keen to maintain his rich vein of form when Latics come to town.

He is a summer signing, joining on a free transfer after departing divisional rivals Barnet.

He showed his class and ability to score goals at this level for his past employers as he scored 20 goals for the Bees last campaign, also taking home their player of the season award.

He has also played for Cambridge United, Cambridge City, Bishop’s Stortford, Stevenage. Lincoln City, Royston Town, Boston United, King’s Lynn Town and Eastleigh.

In the dugout

The man in the dugout for the hosts is Andy Woodman.

The former goalkeeper has been in the post sine March 2021. His only other previous job in management is with Whitehawk where he had a brief spell and helped them to staying in the division.

Elsewhere in his coaching career, he often followed his old teammate Alan Pardew around and was part of his coaching staff at West Ham United, Charlton Athletic, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace.

Unsurprisingly given their home form, Bromley are favourites for this clash priced at 3/4.
