Newspaper reports rubbish says manager
Paul Dickov has dismissed reports that Lee Hughes is set to return to Boundary Park.Latics' manager was speaking after a national newspaper claimed the 36-year-old striker was already in a hotel in the town ready to sign.
It also alleged the move was being held up because of a disagreement over the transfer between Dickov and the Latics' directors.
Dickov said: "Lee Hughes has never been a target and what has been written is absolute rubbish.
"Simon (Corney), the directors and myself have a fantastic working relationship and to say otherwise is ridiculous.
"Everyone here at the club is pulling in the same direction and are all buying into what we are trying to achieve which is to move the club forward."
Dickov added he has a couple of transfer targets in mind to complete his squad in readiness for the start of the season.
"They are really good players and we will have to see what can be done this week," he explained.
