Latics manager's praise for captain
Paul Dickov says Dean Furman's international call-up by South Africa is fully deserved.Latics' manager is delighted to hear of the recognition for his team captain, even though he will miss two matches next week at Chesterfield in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and away to Doncaster in npower League One.
Dickov said: "It is fantastic news for Dean, and fully deserved.
"It is a reward for all the hard work he has put in as well as also for everybody at the club and shows we are doing something right.
"To get the chance to play against Brazil, with all their top players, will be a great experience."
Dickov also has no qualms about the travelling to South America and then four days later to South Africa for a further friendly against Mozambique.
"There is a lot of travel but if there is any player you can count on to look after himself, it would be Dean," he concluded.
