Latics' dress rehearsal

3 August 2012

Final friendly against Terriers

Latics complete their scheduled pre-season friendlies tomorrow with the visit by npower Championship side Huddersfield Town to Boundary Park, kick off 3pm.

It gives Paul Dickov one final chance to look over his squad before the first competitive match against Sheffield Wednesday a week on Monday in the Capital One Cup.

Latics' manager says he will be treating it as a proper game by naming his strongest line up and having seven substitutes as is permitted in the league and cup competitions.

Dickov is happy with his side's form as they have beaten Mossley, York City, Fleetwood and Manchester City's Euro 2012 stars losing only to Rotherham during a pre-season camp in Portugal.

He remains cautious, however, saying these are only friendlies and the action doesn't start for real until a week on Monday.

Latics will have to be on their mettle as Town head into the game with criticism from manager Simon Grayson ringing in their ears.

Grayson has promised to play a strong side after admitting he is unhappy with his side's form. They have lost to Guiseley and Crewe and drawn away to Kilmarnock and Hibernian during a tour of Scotland.

Town are likely to include summer signings Oliver Norwood (Manchester United), Sean Scannell (Crystal Palace), Adam Clayton (Leeds) and Keith Southern (Blackpool).

Admission prices tomorrow are £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.

Season-ticket holders will be able to gain free admission using the voucher in their books.

The matchday programme for tomorrow's match is £1.50.
