New-boy given cup bow
New-signing Jordan Slew was handed his Latics' debut in tonight's Capital One Cup, first-round tie against Sheffield Wednesday at Boundary Park.The 19-year-old striker was signed last week on a six-month loan from Blackburn Rovers.
Manager Paul Dickov sprang no surprises naming the expected side against the Championship Owls who had five new players in their starting line up, but there was no place for former Latics' favourite Kieran Lee.
