Wesolowski injury blow

Midfield man ruled out of opener

Latics' preparations for their opening npower League One match of the season at Milton Keynes Dons were dealt a major blow.

Key midfield man James Wesolowski (pictured) was ruled out through a hamstring strain.

Wesolowski, who was injured yesterday in training, was replaced by new-signing Cristian Montano resulting in a tactical rejig.

Youssouf M'Changama moved inside to partner Dean Furman in the centre of midfield while Montano was handed a debut on the left flank.

MK Dons also had to shuffle their side as Stephen Gleeson was suspended while Mathias Doumbe and Shaun Williams were injured.

MK Dons (4-2-1-3): Martin; Chicksen, MacKenzie, Kay, Lewington; Potter, Chadwick; Bowditch, O'Shea, Powell; Lowe. Subs: McLoughlin, Otsemobor, MacDonald, Smith, Ibehre, Alli, Galloway.

Latics (4-4-2): Cisak; Byrne, Tarkowski, M'voto, Grounds; Croft, Furman, M'Changama, Montano; Simpson, Slew. Subs: Brown, Bouzanis, Smith, Taylor, Millar, Hughes, Winchester.
