Colchester United insist Saturday's npower League match fixture against Latics will go ahead despite the wintery blast.Today's newspapers had pictures of nearby Stanstead Airport and other parts of Essex covered in snow heightening fears for Saturday's game.
Colchester have had their Weston Homes Community Centre pitch covered all week and the surface underneath is reported to be soft.
The snow has cleared as quickly as it appeared, though conditions around the stadium are described as a little icy.
