Latics plan light-hearted riposte to survey

Latics find themselves at the bottom of npower League One in a survey to find the division's 'poshest' fans.

And in a light-hearted riposte to the poll, which has been conducted by our official betting partner Bet Butler, Latics are planning a 'Posh Day.'

The day is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 9th when Latics host Milton Keynes Dons, whose fans have been voted the poshest in League One.

MK Dons, in fact, are second to Brighton in having the poshest fans among the 72 Football League clubs according to the survey.

Eleven-per-cent of Brighton fans considered their club to be "very posh" and a further 25-per-cent "quite posh."

In contrast, Accrington Stanley fans didn't consider themselves posh at all.

Indeed, 90-per-cent of their fans felt the onion in their matchday pie counted as one of their five a day.

Proud not to be posh were Barnsley, Latics and Bradford City who had 0.1 per-cent of the total votes between them.

Eighty-five-per-cent of Barnsley fans labelled their club "not posh at all" while not one Latics' fan could bring themselves to call their beloved side "very posh."

Two thousand fans were polled to discover which supporters prefer their tea and scones to their pie and mash.

Look out nearer the time on the official website for further details about Latics' 'Posh Day.'
